Thank you for being a part of our youth league programs. There are a few changes in the way we schedule our refs so please read the following:
Before the season starts, you will receive a schedule for the entire season that shows the days and times you need to be here.
The schedule we make will be based on the times you pick to ref. Here is a list of days and number of games available to ref:
When you receive your schedule, you will also get a list of fellow youth league refs. If for any reason you cannot cover a game you are scheduled for, it is your responsibility to call and find someone else to cover for you.
Basketball America will not tolerate refs that do not show up for their games. If this happens, you will not be allowed to ref for our youth programs any longer.
As a youth league ref, you have two options of getting paid:
You can receive free open gym for the weeks that you ref. Which would allow you to come in and play at B.A. whenever you want for free.
You can be paid for each game that you ref. Please Note that if you get paid for your games you will not get free open gym.
This is a great first job opportunity for teenagers. If you have any responsible friend with basketball knowledge please invite them to become a ref as well.
